Human Intrusion

Some zones shouldn’t have anyone in them — a warehouse aisle at 2am, a server room on a weekend, a hazardous area between shifts. Human Intrusion watches those spaces continuously and flags any human presence the moment it appears, whoever it is.

Empty is a security requirement too

Some areas aren’t dangerous because of who might enter — they’re dangerous because no one should be there at all.

Overnight blind spots

Warehouses and server rooms often sit unmonitored overnight, exactly when unauthorised entry is hardest to explain away.

Hazardous areas need to stay empty

Some zones are restricted for safety, not secrecy — a confined space or high-voltage area is dangerous for anyone present, authorised or not.

Guards can't watch overnight forever

A human patrol checking a warehouse once an hour still leaves fifty-nine minutes of no one watching.

From an empty room to a verified alert

Restricted zone definition

Mark exactly which areas within a camera’s view should always be treated as off-limits to any human presence.

After-hours scheduling

Set a zone to only trigger outside operating hours — busy during the day, restricted the moment the shift ends.

Real-time detection & alerts

Any human presence in a restricted zone triggers an alert immediately — not on the next scheduled review of the footage.

Live video verification

Security personnel can pull up the live feed the moment an alert fires, assess the situation, and decide how to respond.

How it flows

Define. Detect. Verify.

01

Define

Mark the zone as restricted, and set whether it applies at all times or only outside operating hours.

02

Detect

The camera watches continuously, and any human presence in the zone — during the restricted window — triggers detection instantly.

03

Verify

Security personnel get an alert with the live feed attached, so they can assess and respond before dispatching anyone in person.

Not the same as Stranger Detection

Human Intrusion flags any human presence in a zone that should be empty — it doesn’t check identity at all. Stranger Detection works the other way: it checks faces against a registered database in areas people do pass through. Sites often run both — Human Intrusion for spaces that should stay empty, Stranger Detection for spaces that should only admit known faces.

A patrol where fixed cameras don't reach

A Collie robot can extend Human Intrusion detection into aisles and corners a fixed camera doesn’t cover, running the same after-hours logic on a moving patrol route through a warehouse or hazardous area overnight.

Where it’s deployed

Anywhere a zone should stay empty

Warehouses

Overnight monitoring of storage aisles and loading areas outside operating hours.

Server Rooms

Continuous restriction on a space that should only ever be entered on a scheduled basis.

Hazardous Areas

Industrial zones restricted for safety, where presence itself is the risk, regardless of who it is.

Construction Sites

Unfinished or unstable areas that need to stay empty overnight and on non-working days.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What does Human Intrusion detection cover?

It flags when a person enters a zone that’s meant to be restricted or unoccupied – such as a hazardous area, sterile zone, or after-hours perimeter.

How is Human Intrusion different from Stranger Detection?

Stranger Detection is about identity – whether a face matches a registered profile. Human Intrusion is about location – whether anyone, recognised or not, has entered a zone they shouldn’t be in.

Can intrusion zones be customised per site?

Yes, restricted zones are configured per site and per camera, so a hazardous machinery area or a sterile hospital zone can each have its own boundary and rules.

Does an intrusion trigger an immediate alert?

Yes, detection is real-time, so security or safety staff are notified as the intrusion happens rather than discovering it later in a video review.

Can robots patrol for human intrusion in areas without cameras?

Yes – patrol robots carry the same detection module, so a legged or wheeled unit can watch for intrusion in blind spots a fixed camera can’t reach.
